Content
- The Loman family and Charley and Bernard stand at the grave of their father and husband Willy. It seems strange to Linda that no one else has come to the funeral, as Willy had always told them how many friends he had
- In his eulogy, Biff notes that while his father had always aspired to be a successful salesman, his talents lay elsewhere. Since Willy was always good at conceptualising and planning of buildings, he might have been more successful as a civil engineer
- Charley, the neighbor, replies that it like a salesman to strive for the higher and sometimes the unattainable. Happy informs those present that he would now like to continue Willy's manner of always dreaming of success
- Linda asks for a few moments alone at her husband's grave at the end of the ceremony. She reflects on why Willy took his own life, especially since she paid the last instalment on the house that day and now they no longer have to pay rent on the house
- Biff comes back and holds his sobbing mother before they leave the cemetery together
