Dangers and opportunities of capitalizm
- While the present work Death of a salesman is clearly to be understood as a sharp critique of capitalism, in the following we will deal with the advantages and disadvantages of capitalism. In this day and age, we all benefit, willingly or unwillingly, from capitalism and it is almost impossible to escape its clutches
- The central thesis of capitalism is oriented towards growth. Growth, again, is possible through the flow of money in the form of investment and rapid development of technology, which results in the stimulation of reproduction
- Crucially, economic growth is primarily dominated and controlled by the large corporations, as they are the ones responsible for the growth and have the power to do so
- In capitalism, the credo is: by using money, more money can be made. It is also said that successful people make their money work for them. The great advantage of capitalism is that, in theory, everyone can use it to their advantage, since educational background plays a subordinate role in success through capitalism
- Moreover, one of the greatest advantages of the capitalist system is the possibility of entering foreign countries. The fact that money flows freely from investors into projects also presents the possibility that the education sector and the health system can also benefit from generous funds. Accordingly, support money and subsidies can be disbursed quickly and efficiently in an emergency such as the Corona epidemic
- The problem with capitalism is undoubted that it accelerates a gap between rich and poor and can thus to some extent drive a wedge between society. Another negative factor that is not taken into account by the capitalist system is that one cannot always speak of equal opportunities. Because if people have different initial situations due to the unequal distribution of financial opportunities, the consequence is that those who have more from the start have to take a relatively "shorter path" to success. Those who start with less capital, on the other hand, have a longer path to success ahead of them
