IV.2 Internet and teenage life
a)
The quote "It's like the Wild West, the Internet. There are no rules" means that the internet is like the old American frontier where there were few laws. It suggests that the internet is a place where people can do almost anything without consequences.
I agree with this quote because sometimes it feels like there are no rules on the internet. People can say and do things they wouldn't in real life. This can lead to bullying, lies, and other bad stuff. Without rules, it's like everyone is on their own, and that can be scary and dangerous.
Rules are super important in life. They keep us safe and make things fair. Just like we have rules at home, school, and work, we need rules on the internet too. Rules help us know what's okay and what's not. They protect us and help make the internet a better place for everyone.
In conclusion, while the internet may seem like a lawless place, having rules is important to keep us safe and make sure everyone is treated fairly.
b)
In the cartoon, we see a happy kid being led by an upset adult down a school hallway. Below the cartoon, it says, "You should have seen what Bobby did in class! It's already posted on YouTube!"
Description of the cartoon
I think unauthorized uploads to social media are not okay. It's not fair to share someone's private moments without their permission. It can embarrass or hurt people, and they might not want everyone to see it.

Mobile phone restrictions at school can be a good idea. Phones can distract students from learning, and they might miss important information. Plus, it's not polite to use phones when someone is teaching. But sometimes, phones can be helpful for learning, so maybe schools could have rules about when and how they can be used. Overall, it's important to find a balance between using phones for learning and not letting them distract us too much.
